There have been numerous times in both of my pregnancies that I’ve been just plain proud of myself. Whether it’s rolling over in bed without assistance or not knocking things off of my bathroom counter, these accomplishments are worthy of celebration.
But then you see pregnant moms like Fitness Blogger Anna Strode, and accomplishment takes on a whole new meaning.
Anna, the fit mom behind Instagram page bubs2bikinis, is well-known and followed for her workouts, both pre and post partum. She’s currently pregnant with her newest little girl and spends her time chasing around twin boys, but that doesn’t stop her from getting her sweat on.
She even challenges her husband (who is, obviousy, NOT pregnant) to a #pregnancyworkout!
Challenged the hubby to a #pregnancyworkout 💦💪 Let's just say it didn't go so well…. 😂 His response as soon as we taped the weighted ball to him was 'OH OUCH, this really hurts your back hey' and yep – that's the reason women have babies and not men 😂 #workout #partnerworkout #homeexercises #homeworkouts
“Rhett often watches me in amazement when I work out,” Anna told HuffPost. “He always says ‘I don’t know how you do that,’ so I just said, ‘Why don’t you give it a try!’ He kind of laughed it off, but then I was like, ‘No I’m serious ― you need to try this!’”
So, in a comical turn of events, Anna strapped a ten-pound medicine ball to her husband Rhett’s abdomen to imitate a pregnant belly, and the games were on.
As you can see in the video which, thankfully for all of us watching, captures the hilarity until the very end, Rhett doesn’t make it too long until his ‘belly’ flies right off. “OH OUCH, this really hurts your back hey,” he muses to his very pregnant wife. “Yep- that’s the reason women have babies and not men” she quips.
Any time moms have the ability to demonstrate to their husbands even a little piece of how much pregnancy changes every little thing we normally do, it’s a win. We’re so glad that Anna and Rhett shared this moment for all to see. Keep rocking, Anna! You inspire us!
