Tangiplay coding kit

Tangiplay: Code N Play is a new generation of coding toy that encourages kids aged 4-9 to learn as they play. It is a collection of 12 physical robot toys that interact with an App on iPad.

We’ve created a completely new way to interact with toys and tablets: Kids control the toys instead of using fingers to play the games. When they press, slide, or rotate the robot, this translates into code that creates a unique response in the game. Each toy represents a different coding command, from the basic [move forward] [build railway] to advanced [Loop] [Condition], kids code to create the route in the game. The advanced coding function helps them to optimize the route and build railways in a faster way. There are 120+ puzzles for kids to explore. They could learn some basic coding concepts.

The toys are made battery/Bluetooth free which makes it absolutely safe. With the replaceable emoji faces, kids can change the robot’s face and create their own stories.
In sum, Tangiplay gives the kids practice with computational and creative thinking while boosting their coding logic, sequencing, math exploration, and problem-solving skills in a natural way.

Award-Winning Children's book — Speranza's Sweater

Speranza’s Sweater: A Child’s Journey Through Foster Care and Adoption
Written by Marcy Pusey; Illustrated by Beatriz Mello

Kids deserve a safe place to live and grow and learn. For some kids, this means living with foster or adoptive parents. Speranza’s Sweater chronicles one child’s experience through the foster and adoptive system.

Speranza wears her sweater everywhere, hanging onto the last memories of her birth home, until it’s threadbare. Like her unraveled sweater, Speranza must weave together a new story, bringing threads from her past and strands from her present, into a future of love, family, and the true meaning of home.

In this heart-warming and reassuring story, children are offered permission to feel and experience their own story authentically. It provides hope and support for the many mixed emotions a child will experience during their foster and adoption journey, through the unraveling and re-weaving of a favorite sweater.

Speranza also introduces children to potential life experiences of foster and adopted classmates, friends, or family members. By reading Speranza’s story with your child, and discussing the experience of a child in a similar situation, you can create a safe space to talk about feelings of grief, loss, excitement, confusion, anger, sadness, or any of the many other feelings accompanying removal, foster care, and adoption.

Speranza’s Sweater also includes a dictionary of words to empower children and their carers by understanding the language used around them.

KING of GLORY Coloring Book: 70 Scenes Adapted from the Book & Movie
Written by Coloring Artwork by Cole Phail
adapted from KING of GLORY picture book by author P.D. Bramsen and Artist Arminda San Martin
Cole Phail; Illustrated by Cole Phail

This chronological Bible story coloring book with its striking and detailed 70 drawings is designed to be used, scene by scene, with the KING of GLORY 70-scene picture book, DVD (or digital movie), and Illustrated Study Guide. With one picture per page (blank on back side) this works best with coloring pencils or fine felt tip pens, but crayons can work too. While many choose to keep the 70 scenes together (to create and save their personal rendition of the KING of GLORY story), each page is perforated for easy sharing or photocopying. One way to use this coloring book with a small group is to watch one of the movie’s 70 scenes (average length: 3 minutes) and then color the corresponding picture. This coloring book is the final piece of the KING of GLORY Curriculum. www.king-of-glory.com

  1. This is great list that really has me thinking… These would be great activities for my younger child while his older sisters are doing remote learning. Something to keep him quiet, busy and learning!
