Working at Annie’s Book Stop, Keegan has read plenty of mysteries. But she’s never been part of one. Until now. It starts when someone—or some THING—burglarizes a different local bookstore, Toil & Trouble, stealing an obscure book of little interest except possibly to a collector. It gets stranger when someone appearing to be a hunchbacked nun comes to Annie’s Book Stop to order a reprint of the same book—and two books on local graveyards! But before they can be picked up, a robed and hooded figure breaks into Annie’s after hours and rifles through the special-orders shelf.

Matt Monroe and The Haunted House
Written by Edward Torba

Matt Monroe and the Haunted House is a fast-moving, eerily descriptive story about a fourteen- year-old boy from southwestern Pennsylvania, who is confronted by an evil entity. Complicating matters is the fact Matt is also recovering from leukemia.

The story opens in 1901 with siblings, Nathanial and Annabelle Parker, desperately attempting to flee their evil step-father, Colonel Parker. They almost make it to safety; however, they are captured and presumably killed in a fit of rage. The story then returns to the present and embarks upon an incredible game of cat and mouse; cunningly leading readers down several blind alleys in their quest for the truth, beautifully linking each character and thread. The school bully is thrown into the equation along with several teachers and an assortment of friends; each beautifully flawed, their true intentions blurred just enough to make readers wonder where their true allegiance lies.

Award-Winning Children's book — Cinderella -- A Love Story

Cinderella — A Love Story
Written by Gina LoBiondo; Illustrated by Donna Sterpe

Cinderella — A Love Story is “a fanciful and absorbing rewrite of the classic faerie tale”. It is told here in a fascinating new version, set circa mid-16th century. Younger readers will love the borrowed magic that enables Ella to attend the ball, while older readers — including adults — will connect with the inseparable bond between mother and child; a bond that transcends time and space and even death itself.

Ella’s parents are young and in love and the family is happy until Marie suddenly dies. Her father remarries, hoping to give his beloved child a mother’s love and care. But Charles’s new wife is a cruel, unaffectionate woman, who cares only for her own two very backward daughters and turns her step-daughter into a servant. Ten years later, when the King throws a ball in honour of his son, Ella’s only chance at happiness comes from a most unexpected source.
