Please repeat after me: you are kind, wonderful, and interesting. You are bursting with positive and creative energy, and every mistake or misstep is simply a stumble on your journey to being a better person. No matter what happens in your life, you are always worthy of being loved.

Some days, our minds or the voices of those around us can make us believe we are unworthy of love and kindness. Here are positive encouragements and healing affirmations to help improve your self-love and self-worth and remind you that your existence and life are meaningful.

I Can and I Will

One of the most important positive encouragements to give yourself is simply a reminder that you can and you will. You are capable of accomplishing so many great and amazing things in life: nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams.

For those days when you feel a little down on yourself or are being treated by others as incapable, remind yourself that you can do it. Whether it’s starting a new job, learning a new hobby, or changing your way of life – you can do it and you will do it.

In life, it’s essential that you always become your biggest cheerleader. There will be others who support and encourage you, but self-encouragement and believing in your own skills will take you so unbelievably far in life.

I am Made of Sunshine and Starlight

Positive Encouragements for Improving Self Love and Self WorthThis is one of my all-time favorite positive encouragements and a great way of reminding yourself that you are beautifully and wonderfully made just as you are. No matter whether you’re someone famous or someone completely unknown, we are all necessary and we are all important.

In science, we learn that matter is not created or destroyed, it simply changes form. That means, matter is constantly shifting around the universe, so it’s not a far stretch to believe that some of that matter has changed from stars and starlight into life on earth.

No matter how you perceive yourself as compared to someone else, your existence is important. You brighten someone’s day and bring joy to the people around you. You spread happiness and kindness simply by being yourself. Therefore, you are made of sunshine and starlight and everything good, bright, and beautiful in the universe.

I am Worthy of Goodness

Another one of the best positive encouragements is simply a reminder that no matter what anyone tells you, you are worthy of goodness – both from yourself and from the people surrounding you. You are worthy of being loved by someone kind and caring, and being taken care of by someone who is good to you.

Never settle for less than goodness and happiness in your relationships, whether they are platonic or romantic. You deserve to be with someone who looks at you like you’re made of sunshine (which you are). And you deserve to be treated with worth and kindness.

At the end of the day, you are worthy of so much more than you believe. Make sure that the people who fill your life understand that and do their best to show you, every day, how important you are.

I am Beautiful in Every Way

“I am beautiful in every way” is one of the best positive encouragements for those days when you’re struggling with self-love. We all have those times when nothing fits right or when the face in the mirror simply doesn’t make us happy. Our confidence falls, our heart sinks, and we start to believe that we aren’t beautiful.

There are two things wrong with this thinking: for one, beauty doesn’t have only one definition. Physical beauty and what we find to be visually appealing are constantly changing, shifting, and evolving, and it’s different for everyone. Never let yourself believe that you aren’t beautiful simply because you don’t look like someone else – we aren’t meant to look the same and that’s what makes us interesting.

The second reason believing that you aren’t beautiful is wrong is that beauty isn’t simply about our physical features. It’s not just our tummies or our eyes or our smile. It’s the way we hold our heads, the way we show kindness to strangers, and the small quirks we have that only others can see. There are so many ways to be beautiful, and you are lovely in every single one.

I am Growing and I Can Have Room to Do That

Another of my favorite positive encouragements for improving self-worth is the reminder that I can give myself room to keep growing as a person. Never pigeonhole yourself into believing that you can’t grow or change – you are constantly evolving as a person, and it’s okay to give yourself the grace and space to do that.

If you don’t like where you are in life or you don’t like certain ways you act or interact with others, it’s okay to want to change. You are never too old to make mistakes, and you are never too old to grow from them.

Make sure that as you go about your life, you always allow yourself the necessary room to make those mistakes and consider those life changes so that you can become an even better person tomorrow.

I Have All I Need to Achieve My Goals

No matter what someone else tells you, you have all the tools you need to be whoever you want to be. One of the best positive encouragements for improving self-love and self-worth is telling yourself that you can do anything you want to as long as you’re determined and willing to work hard.

Determination and work ethic can get you farther in life than maybe you ever believed possible. You don’t have to be born with any innate skills or talents to become the person you want to be – you already have all the tools you need. All you have to do is work hard and refuse to give up.

While I think sometimes people need outside encouragement to help them believe in themselves, it’s also always important to trust that you are the person you need to be. At the end of the day, the most consistent person in your life is yourself – believe in that person and encourage them to work hard for their goals.

I hope these positive encouragements and helpful affirmations inspire you to love the person you are.
