Here's how it works: Go to the Alumni Webstore. Select the dates and shifts you’re available to volunteer, and add them to your shopping cart.

On the checkout page, use one of the coupon codes above.

Upon checkout , complete the Volunteer Agreement (PDF or Word) which basically says if you use your webstore credit(s) in advance of BEA and are unable to fulfill your commitment that you agree to reimburse us for the credit.

1)  What is BookExpo and how does it get exposure
for my award-winning book/product?

Book Expo America (BEA) combines the largest selection of English language titles on the planet with special industry and author events and unparalleled educational content to create a dynamic environment for networking, sourcing and relationship building. The event brings together booksellers, retailers, librarians, educators, rights and international professionals, and industry professionals. Approximately 30,000 are expected to attend this year. Although the Expo is primarily marketed as a “book” event, many other products are also featured: DVDs, games, software, toys, etc. The convention generates enormous press coverage putting many publishers and their books on TV screens and in the pages of many leading newspapers and magazines: C-Span, 60 Minutes, Access Hollywood, Associated Press, Reuters, Bloomberg and others.

5)  Will I need to schedule an appointment for my filmed interview at BEA?

Yes. MCA will conduct filmed interviews with Honorees in the MCA Booth #2370 on Wednesday, May 26th and Thursday, May 27th. There is a modest reservation fee of $75 which covers two interview participants per timeslot, basic editing and electronic delivery of the video file. Post production editing services are also available for an additional charge. Schedule your filmed interview timeslot on the Alumni Webstore. Space is limited and available on a first-come basis. Interview questions are provided in advance.


TIP! A filmed interview is a valuable marketing/promotional tool! Post your video on your website, YouTube™, Facebook™ and other social networking sites. Share your interview with members of the media, or use the interview to create a multi-media press kit.

6)  Will I need a badge for BEA?

Yes, you will need to a badge if you are attending BEA. Discounted badges (up to 36% off) are available until May 9th via the Alumni Webstore. After May 9th, you'll need to order your badge from the BookExpo website. Order by March 31st for best value!

7)  How do I make travel arrangements for BEA?

Please visit the BEA Travel Center for information and assistance. Discounted travel services are available to attendees. The deadline for hotel reservations is May 5th, but don't wait. Space is limited and sells out fast.

9)  Will the MCA take my book/product to BEA?

Yes. Registration is required, and you can register via the Alumni Webstore.. The cost to participate is $200-$225 per title/item, and the deadline to register is May 7th. If you participate, your book/product  will be part of a prominent display in a high-traffic location. Your item will be displayed face out alongside other MCA award-winning products. Professionally designed signage will clearly identify the section as the Mom’s Choice Awards Showcase.  This beautiful, easy-to-browse exhibit allows booksellers, agents, scouts and publishing professionals to touch, feel and see your product. Plus! Your product will be featured in a searchable database that is active until October 2010, and in the printed show catalogue that is distributed at BEA. Register by March 31st for best value!

10)  Are there autographing or product demo opportunities at BEA?

The Autographing Program is one of the highlights of BEA. Several one-hour timeslots are available. On Wednesday, May 26th and Thursday, May 27th autographing sessions / product demo session will be held in the MCA Booth #2370. Rates are $75 per person per hour.

Also on Thursday, May 27th, our authors will be featured in the main Autographing Area known as the "Author Corral" (where high-profile and New York Times Bestselling Authors are signing). Rates are $100 per person per hour. Reserve your timeslot(s) via the Alumni Webstore.

IMPORTANT: You must register by March 12th, to guarantee your information is included in the show catalog. Space is limited and sells out fast.

Please note the following: 
a) All signing authors must have a badge. The Autographing Reservation fee does NOT include the badge. Discounted badges are available until May 9th through the MCA Alumni Webstore. After May 9th, you'll need to order your badge via the BEA website.

b) BEA does not allow books to be sold during the show. They consider this a promotional opportunity to the trade. You can, however, take orders. 

c) You will need to make your own arrangements for getting your books to the show. There are several options. BEA will email you details closer to the event date.

d) You may be sharing a booth/table with another author – no more than two authors at a time will be featured.
