Pauli Reading uses her award-winning book series Sherlock McBiskit and Friends to teach character education through a school-based program called PAWS for Character. The program helps students understand the importance of thinking and acting in ways that reflect Good Character. Pauli uses twelve canine friends to demonstrate character traits such as Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Perseverance, Caring, Courage, Resiliency, Hope, Good Citizenship, Friendship, Cooperation, Gratitude, Justice and Fairness, Patience, and Sportsmanship.
Created in 2002, Pauli has helped thousands of students develop positive character traits through the PAWS program.
The PAWS program can be adapted for any grade level, conventional or special needs classrooms, and to address any character trait. |
