The Blue Heron Project is a City of Chesapeake community initiative. The project is led by a committed group of volunteers working together to bring hundreds of blue heron sculptures to our beautiful city and raise $1 million for education. Our program is primarily funded by the sponsorship of the uniquely decorated blue heron sculptures seen throughout the city of Chesapeake. Private citizens, groups, organizations, and corporations can all get involved in this exciting project. Experience the power of giving, and sponsor this unique philanthropic program!

Majestic Sponsor

6' sculpture, features a unique design, delivery time is generally 3-4 months but may be longer depending on the artist/design selected

Step 1:  

Download the Adopt-A-Heron Sponsor Agreement. Complete it online in soft copy, print it and return it with your sponsorship payment.

Step 2:  

Select an artist/design from our gallery, or commission and compensate your own artist. Note: Commissioned designs require approval from The Blue Heron Project Committee.

Step 3:

Consider the installation location. The sculpture may be installed on your private property or on public property (parks, libraries, etc.).

Step 4:

Plan for your unveiling celebration.
